Domain Hosting - Managing Your Domain
Pointing your domain to VuyoM Online hosting
If your domain was registered elsewhere, you'll need to update its nameservers so it points to our hosting:
- Log in to your domain registrar's control panel (e.g. where you bought the domain)
- Find the Nameservers or DNS section
- Replace the existing nameservers with the ones provided in your welcome email (typically two, e.g.
ns1.vuyom.onlineandns2.vuyom.online) - Save changes
DNS changes can take anywhere from a few minutes up to 24-48 hours to fully propagate worldwide.
Managing DNS records (if you keep your domain elsewhere)
If you prefer to keep your domain's DNS with your registrar instead of using our nameservers, you'll need to manually add these records (provided in your welcome email):
- A record — points your domain to our server's IP address
- MX records — routes your email to our mail servers
- CNAME records — for
www,mail, or other subdomains
Checking domain/DNS status
You can check whether your domain has propagated using a free tool like whatsmydns.net — enter your domain and check that the A record matches our server IP everywhere.
Domain renewal
- If we manage your domain registration, we'll email you a renewal reminder before expiry
- If you manage it elsewhere, renewal is your responsibility — an expired domain will take your website and email offline
- Open a ticket if you're not sure who your domain is registered with
Common issues
| Issue | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Website/email not working after signup | DNS hasn't propagated yet | Wait up to 48 hours, or verify nameservers are correct |
| "Domain expired" notice | Registration lapsed | Renew immediately with your registrar to avoid losing the domain |
| Website works but email doesn't (or vice versa) | Missing or incorrect MX/A record | Open a ticket — we'll check your DNS records |
